We finally wrapped up learning about patriotism! We researched on computers in Pebble Go facts about the White House, Statue of Liberty, Liberty Bell and the Washington Monument. We tried to do the interactive tour of the White House on www.thewhitehouse.gov but we had many technical difficulties!! The kids were interested in seeing the South Lawn, where they can learn about the beehives and see wounded marines play basketball on the White House's basketball court. If you get a chance to explore this site, I recommend it! We also enjoyed learning about the voting process. We taste tested four apples, filled out a "Voter Registration Card", casted our ballots at the Voting Booth and graphed our results. When the results were in.... Yellow Delicious was the favorite!
Next week we have the Unit 3 Math Test and will be talking turkey, thankfulness and beginning holidays. After Thanksgiving vacation, we will begin a unit on Holiday Lights. We will get ready for our Lincolnshire Marriott play "The Nutcracker". Don't forget conferences coming up! Here's some pictures of us researching Pebble Go.
