Our Superintendent, Dr. Lori Bein, paid the OMS first graders a visit today to share her recent experience to Japan. What a WONDERFUL time we had with her! She came so well prepared and taught the kids a lot about schools in Japan. She interacted and laughed with them and kept them engaged the entire time! We learned that students in Japan always take off their outside shoes and put on inside shoes. They wear uniforms. They take umbrellas out in the rain, in the snow AND on sunny days. They eat BBQ eel for lunch, but their favorite meal is spaghetti and meatballs. They prepare for earthquake drills. And the students clean EVERYTHING... no custodians! I can't capture how wonderful this experience was, but please visit the OMS Blog for a little video of her visit. Here are some snapshots.....
