Welcome Back! I hope you had a wonderful vacation with your children, and I hope you are ready to share them with me again because I am missing them! I'll post later this week, but I wanted to give you a heads-up to what we'll be doing in school this week.
We will NOT have a spelling list this week due to missing two days with the icky weather. We WILL be playing a new fun spelling/detective game to review some spelling patterns and sight words. I'm very anxious for this! In writing, we will be putting final publishing pieces to our Tradition Writing, we will review HOW-TO writing with a "How-to Make Hot Chocolate" mini writing during Daily 5. We will also be writing about our vacation AND our goals for the New Year! Yup... we will set some goals! (And make a cute craft to hang in the hall... pictures to follow later this week.)
In Science, we will get back into weather. And in Math, we will begin scrolling. We will play a new game with the 120 grid and also start talking about Timed Tests... a letter is coming home tomorrow about this. Our Unit 4 Math Test will be the middle of NEXT week, so look for a review to come home next Tuesday.
